Representative Kahrs Enters Election Year With Nearly $50,000 Cash-on-Hand

(January 9, 2014) WICHITA – Kansas State Representative Mark Kahrs today announced he has $48,168.25 cash-on-hand to begin his 2014 re-election campaign.

Kahrs, in just his first term, raised $11,500 during the last reporting cycle covering the period from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013. With his significant cash-on-hand, Kahrs is well-positioned to defend the seat in 2014 against any challenger.

"It is an honor serving the people of the 87th District," said Kahrs. "Hitting our fundraising goals prior to election year is an early indication of our support and the strength of our organization going into the 2014 cycle."

Kansas House District 87 covers East Wichita. Kahrs serves on the Appropriations, General Government Budget and Judiciary committees. He and his wife Sherri have three daughters. Kahrs is a licensed attorney in Kansas and Missouri and a local small business owner.
